108 programmers, committed to fostering the emergence and support of jazz and improvised music artists, have just chosen Jazz Migration #7 laureates. After a call for applications which received 80 candidates, it is among 16 pre-selected projects that more than 100 festivals, clubs and national venues chose Chaley Rose trio, Coccolite, Nout and Suzanne, proving the value of Jazz Migration for the jazz and improvised music industry.
Today, the four laureate trios start a two year long process of artistic and professional support that will lead to a tour in 2022. Thanks to Jazz Migration, these artists will receive the assistance of a network of professionals committed to supporting emerging artists.
Exceptionally this year, as part of the stimulus package set by the Ministry of Culture, the 12 finalists (Chrones, Daïda, Duo Brady, Edredon Sensible, Haleïs, Kolm, Les Enfants d’Icare, Lovers, Mamie Jotax, Noé Clerc trio, Nuits, Tarzan et Tarzan) will also benefit from an intensified support plan and a period of artistic residence. Committed to reviving the employment of artists and helping them keep a professional activity, AJC will allow this way more than 50 artists to benefit from a paid work period and to be part of a project with more than 20 years of history.
